Battery is charging slowly

Home How to Save battery life on android Battery is charging slowly

If the phone is charging slowly, it is often the result of using not “native” charger that is not suitable for charging this smartphone, which is especially critical when charging the tablets. Don’t worry, you will find the reason of “why my phone is charging slowly?”

  1. Turn on airplane mode, if in this mode device will not charge slowly – try to limit internet connection for your apps
  2. Some process/application on your phone actively uses the processor, consuming a lot of energy, which can be traced on the schedule of energy consumption by applications (settings – battery), when you traced it – turn them off

  3. Use compatible charger, that support the same fast charge technology, like your smartphone
  4. Try to calibrate your battery, in some cases it can help solve your problem with the charging slowly Android
  5. The battery has exhausted its life, in which case you should replace it with a new one.

Battery calibration

When your smartphone or any Android device indicate the charge percentage wrong you can use a built-in Android function for the Battery calibration.

Battery is charging slowly 1

Basically, the main things why you need to make Android battery calibration are in two factors:

  1. You calibrate mobile phone battery when the indicator shows a full discharge, but the device continues to work for a long time
  2. Calibration of the Android phone battery is required when the indicator displays a full or average charge level, but after a short time the battery is completely discharged and your device turns off.

It often occurs after every re-flash of the operating system, after which, the newly installed system does not exactly “know” how much the battery was discharged at the time of installation.

Battery calibration method without root

For Android battery calibration without root you need to follow some steps:

  1. Discharge completely your device. After your device has turned off automatically, try to turn it on again. Try it until the moment when it turns on, “whine” and then turns off again
  2. Remove the battery from the unit for a couple of minutes, then insert it back. Leave the device off. (If you can not physically remove the battery from the unit, just leave the device turned off for 10 minutes)
  3. Connect the charger to your device and leave charging until the indicator shows full charge. If for some reason it is not known how much the battery is charged, then charge about 4 hours
  4. Do not turn on the device, remove the battery again for a couple of minutes, then plug it in and turn it on.(If the battery is not removable, leave the unit switched off for 10 minutes and then turn it on)

Battery calibration app with root

Using this method of battery calibration root, you can achieve more accurate display of the level of charge in less time. You need root access for that.

  1. Download and install the Battery Calibration Pro app
  2. Charge fully the smartphone (100% sure! Wait a little bit more after you see the full charge) If the smartphone cannot be charged up to 100% – hold it charging for about 4 hours, if your device have 5000+ mAh – hold it 1 hour for each 1000 mAh and then continue)
  3. Launch the battery calibration app and click “Calibrate the battery”
  4. Unplug the charger
  5. It is recommended that the smartphone is completely discharged after calibration

After the battery calibration, you can use a smartphone with one correction – wait for a full discharge and charge only up to 100%. Otherwise, incorrect data may appear.

Fast charging Android

The main function of the Quick Charge is recognizing the current battery status and proper regulation of the power of the gadget. So actually what is fast charging? Thanks to this, the smartphone will be charging from 0 to 60% much faster than from 60 to 100%.

It’s useful to know what is adaptive fast charging because this allows you to charge your device from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. Proper regulation of power will not allow the high voltage and current to harm the battery.

what is fast charging

It is not a secret that a slower charger is more gentle to a battery rather than the fast charger. Does fast charging damage batteries a lot? So:

  • The heating of the phone carcass is a side effect of the fast charger
  • The high temperature is almost always bad for any electronic device

And yet, at the moment there is no clear cut evidence that frequent use of fast charger Quick Charge negatively affects the work of the battery and the device as a whole.

The average service life of a smartphone is about 1.5 – 2 years. During this time, the user will not have time to exhaust all resources of the battery. The wear out is the same as when using a conventional charger. Hope we have answer the question “Does fast charging damage the battery??”

If you have any questions about Quick Charge and you still don’t know how to enable fast charging, don’t hesitate to ask us in the comments below.
